IES in collaboration with OakBend Medical Center (OBMC) is actively recruiting Emergency Medicine physicians to join an established ED group in a Southwest Houston suburb. Options include W2 or 1099; full-time or part-time. Group members schedule among three area ERs for greater scheduling flexibility. A position to schedule at Wharton-only is available.
Emergency Departments:
OBMC -Wharton Campus in Wharton, TX
· 9,500 Patients per year (~1.1 Pts./hour)
· 24-hour single physician coverage: shift times 7:00
· Physician shifts: Mostly 24’s; 12-hour shifts allowed
· 6-bed ED
· 40 Bed Hospital
· Only MSU admissions (rehab program). Medical admissions go to other campuses.
OBMC ERs feature:
- Full labs on site; Xray, CT, MRI, Fluoroscopy, US, POCUS
- EMR Paragon (formerly AllScripts); Dictation – Dragon
Option to schedule at two additional ERs:
OBMC Jackson Street Campus
· 16,500 Patients per year (~ 2 Pts./hour)
· 16 bed ED
· 120-Bed Hospital
· APP coverage 40 hr./wk. (M-F, noon-8pm)
· 24-hour physician coverage; shifts 7 to 7
· 10% admission rate; 5% transfers

· 11,300 Patients per year (~1.3 Pts./hour)
· 8 bed ED
· 57 Bed Hospital

Required Qualifications
- BC/BE Emergency Medicine trained physician, or
- BC/BE Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physician with recent one year hospital ER experience in a comparable setting.
- Texas medical license and DEA
- ACLS, ATLS, PALS, NIH
