· 10% admission rate; 5% transfers
OBMC -Williams Way Campus
· 11,300 Patients per year (~1.3 Pts./hour)
· 8 bed ED
· 57 Bed Hospital
· Single physician coverage: 7A -7P; 7P-7A
· 10% admission rate: 5% transfers
OBMC -Wharton Campus in Wharton, TX
· 9,500 Patients per year (~1.1 Pts./hour)
· 24-hour single physician coverage: shift times 7:00
· Physician shifts: Mostly 24’s; 12-hour shifts allowed

· Only MSU admissions (rehab program). Medical admissions go to other campuses.

OakBend is a non-for-profit independent health system comprised of two hospitals in Richmond and one in Wharton located in the outer suburbs of SW Houston. OakBend serves Fort Bend County and the surrounding region, providing care for all ages and proudly offer “no-wait ER services”. These are all Lev 4 ERs.
Since 1947, OBMC has experienced continued growth, ensuring career longevity. Most recently, OBMC partnered with Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine to bring an ACGME Accredited OakBend Family Medicine Residency Program. (first class of residents started in August 2024). The program represents a commitment to expanding primary care access while training physicians in a growing community.
Required Qualifications
- BC/BE Emergency Medicine trained or Family Medicine/Internal Medicine physician with recent hospital ER experience in a comperable setting
- Texas medical license (or ability to obtain)
- DEA, ACLS, ATLS, PALS
- NIH (stroke certification)
