- Dedicated pediatric check in and waiting room
- Trauma Designation: Level II
- Annual Volume: 34,000
- ED Beds: 27 (16 ED beds; 2 resuscitation rooms; 3 fast track beds; 2 triage stations; close access to 4 trauma bays)
- PPH: 1.94
- Admit Rate: 19%

- Physician Coverage: 28 hours
- Physician Shifts: 7a-5p; 3p-1a; 7p-7a
- APP Coverage: 30 hours
- APP Shifts: 9a-7p; 2p-12a; 6p-4a

Children’s Hospital:
- PICU: 20 bed staffed by Pediatric Critical Care specialists
- NICU: 58 bed Level IV with in-house neonatologist coverage
- Pediatric hospitalist service
- Full range of pediatric subspecialists
- Child Life Specialists on staff at hospital
- Pediatric Pharmacist on staff
- Dedicated Pediatric RT (weekdays)
- Only Children’s Hospital in the region
- Academic Site for six residency programs, including Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics, and Family Medicine
- Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship Program begins July 2027
Medical Director Responsibilites:
- Provide on-site management of the clinical and administrative aspects for the emergency department.
- Manage the quality improvement plan including attending regular meetings and review of medical records
- Supervise staff, provide feedback, and assure provision of high-quality care
- Review the provider schedule and ensure adequate staffing
- Actively participate in the recruitment and retention of qualified physicians and advanced practice providers
- Serve as liaison between hospital administration and clinical staff and provide regular feedback to IES leadership
Required Qualifications
- BC Pediatrician with Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship or
- BC Emergency Medicine with Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship
- Oklahoma medical license, DEA & BNDD, or ability to obtain.
- Previous experience as a Medical Director or Assistant Medical Director
