IES seeks an experience Emergency Medicine Physician with leadership skills and experience to serve as the Associate Medical Director for three ERs with OakBend Medical Center. This position features unique aspects of collaboration, support, and mentorship from the Executive Clinical VP of IES Houston since 2012, currently the Interim Medical Director. This position includes a monthly stipend and hours allotted for administrative duties.
Three (3) Emergency Departments:
OBMC ERs feature:
- Full labs on site; Xray, CT, MRI, Fluoroscopy, US, POCUS
- EMR Paragon (formerly AllScripts); Dictation – Dragon

OBMC Jackson Street Campus
· 16,500 Patients per year (~ 2 Pts./hour)
· 16 bed ED
· 120-Bed Hospital
· APP coverage 40 hours/week (M-F, noon-8pm)
· 24-hour physician coverage; shifts 7A-7P; 7P-7A
· 10% admission rate; 5% transfers
OBMC -Williams Way Campus
· 11,300 Patients per year (~1.3 Pts./hour)
· 8 bed ED
· 57 Bed Hospital
· Single physician coverage: 7A -7P; 7P-7A
· 10% admission rate: 5% transfers
OBMC -Wharton Campus in Wharton, TX
· 9,500 Patients per year (~1.1 Pts./hour)
· 24-hour single physician coverage: shift times 7:00
· Physician shifts: Mostly 24’s; 12-hour shifts allowed
· 6-bed ED
· 40 Bed Hospital
· Only MSU admissions (rehab program). Medical admissions go to other campuses.

OakBend is a non-for-profit independent health system comprised of two hospitals in Richmond and one in Wharton located in the outer suburbs of SW Houston. OakBend serves Fort Bend County and the surrounding region, providing care for all ages and proudly offer “no-wait ER services”. These are all Lev 4 ERs.

Required Qualifications
- BC/BE Emergency Medicine trained, or
- Board Certified Family Medicine/Internal Medicine physician with leaderships skills/experience
- Texas medical license (or ability to obtain)
- Directorship experience preferred but not required
- DEA, ACLS, ATLS, PALS
