IES seeks an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician interested in leadership as the Associate Medical Director for OakBend Medical Center. This position features unique aspects of collaboration, support, and mentorship from the established Medical Director and the IES VP of Clinical Work Force Development.
The role and responsibilities will evolve to ensure that the selected Associate Medical Director is prepared to handle all aspects of managing an Emergency Medicine department in accordance with the established IES standards. A monthly stipend and 30 hours/month for administrative work is included. Leadership development is an essential and core element in the growth of IES.
This position involves three (3) ERs thus is an elevated role in management responsibilities and will include immersive educational components similar to the IES structured Adminstrative Fellowship desgined to ensure leadership training and exprience in all aspects of managing an Emergency Department.
Administrative Leadership with three (3) Hospital ED Health System include:
OBMC Jackson Street Campus (1 of 3) campuses
· 16,500 Patients per year
· 45 patients per day (2 Pts./hour) - 15% admissions rate
· 16-bed ED
· APP Coverage 56 hours/week Noon to 8PM
· 24-hour physician coverage; shifts 7A-7P; 7P-7A
· Hospitalist station is convenient adjacent to the ER.
· 120-Bed Hospital
· Full labs on site; Xray, CT, MRI, Fluoroscopy, US, POCUS
· EMR Paragon (formerly AllScripts); Dictation – Dragon
OBMC -Williams Way Campus
· 11,300 Patients per year
· 31 Patients per day (1.8 Pts./hour)-15% admissions rate
· 8-bed ED
· Physician shifts 7A-7P; 7P-7A
· Hospitalist station adjacent to the ER
· 57 Bed Hospital
· Full labs on site; Xray, CT, US, POCUS
· EMR Paragon (formerly AllScripts); Dictation – Dragon
OBMC -Wharton campus
· 9,500 Patients per year
· 26 Patients/ day (1.1 /hr)-15% admissions rate
· 6-bed ED
· Physician shifts: 24 hours

Required Qualifications
- BC/BE Emergency Medicine trained physician
- BC/BE Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physician with recent one year of post-grad hospital ER experience
- Texas medical license (or ability to obtain)
- DEA, ACLS, ATLS, PALS

Located in an outer suburb southwest of Houston, serving Fort Bend County and the surrounding region. OBMC provides care for all ages and proudly offer “no-wait ER services”. These are Lev 3 and Lev 4 ERs with most medical specialists represented. OBMC has two hospital ERs located in Richmond, TX and one ER in Wharton, TX. Group members are required to cross credential at all three hospitals which extends greater scheduling flexibility. The two ERs in Richmond schedule 12-hour shifts from 7 to 7 and the Wharton ER campus schedules 24-hour shifts.
