IIntegrative Emergency Services (IES) is seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine physician to serve as Medical Director for our free-standing emergency departments in Fort Myers, Florida.

The Medical Director will provide clinical and operational leadership at HCA Florida West Fort Myers Emergency and HCA Florida Alico Emergency, modern free-standing emergency departments (FSEDs) serving the rapidly growing Fort Myers community.

The role includes a monthly Medical Director stipend in addition to compensation for clinical shifts.

Facility & Coverage Details:

Freestanding Emergency Department (FSED)

Avg Daily Volume: Approx. 20 patients per day

Physician Coverage: 24 hours [7a-7p, 7p-7a]

EMR: Meditech

Sign-on Bonus: For full-time physicians (W-2 or 1099)

Full-Time Commitment: 144 hours/month (12 shifts)

Site Medical Director Role:

  • Provide on-site management of the clinical and administrative aspects for the Emergency Department
  • Manage the quality improvement plan, including attending regular meetings, and review of medical records
  • Supervise staff, provide feedback, and assure provision of high-quality care
  • Review the provider schedule and ensure adequate staffing
  • Actively participate in the recruitment and retention of qualified physicians
  • Serve as liaison between hospital administration and clinical staff and provide regular feedback to IES leadership


  • Previous experience as a Medical Director or Assistant Medical Director preferred, but not required; or completion of an Administrative Fellowship
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM) preferred.
  • Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physicians with substantial Emergency Department experience will also be considered.
  • Urgent Care experience alone does not meet the qualifications for this position.
  • Current ACLS and PALS certifications are required.
