Baylor Scott & White – McKinney is focused on being the best place to give and receive safe, quality, compassionate healthcare. The 192-bed hospital offers advanced medical services for women’s services, neonatal intensive care, orthopedics, heart and vascular, neurosciences, stroke, diagnostic imaging, intensive and emergency care.

Emergency Department:

  • Level II Trauma Center
  • 48,789 annual ED volume
  • 64 hours of physician coverage
  • 12 hours of APP coverage
  • 25 bed ED
  • High acuity patient population
  • 25.6% admit rate
  • 3.6% transfer rate
  • Chest Pain Center
  • Stroke Center
  • EMR: Epic

APP role:

  • 10a-10p shift
  • APP's will handle MSE's and initial orders
  • Lower acuity patients
  • Laceration repairs
  • Board Certified Physician Assistant, with a minimum of 1 year emergency medicine experience post training
  • Active and unrestricted Texas License and DEA
  • Active ACLS
