The Administrator shall serve as Baylor Scott & White System Physician Informatics Leader of the Clinical Transformation Program .

Role & Responsibilities:

As System Physician Informatics Leader, the

Administrator is responsible for providing complete oversight and direction to the Program, including:

 

• Assists to advance the BSWH ambition to be the trusted leader, educator and innovator in

value-based care delivery, customer experience and affordability;

• Accountable to the CMIO or their designee in the BSWH Office of the CMIO, including

the Director of Physician Informatics;

• Become a skilled proficient user of the technology including participation with additional

EHR learning;

• Be an accountable change agent, influencing peers and others to promote EHR

utilization;

• Support all stages of development, implementation, training, optimization and utilization

of an enterprise-wide, standardized EHR and other HIT efforts of BSWH;

• Become familiar with the processes, governance and timelines for the implementation of

EHR upgrades, enhancements and organizational initiatives;

• Provide guidance in workflow design and helping define aspects of the build, such as

order sets, clinical decision support and physician documentation tools;

• Understand the future state provider workflow for the enterprise, specialty or function

and actively lead in its promotion and adaptation;

• Support regulatory and organizational policies regarding use of the technology;

• Furnish physician informatics input into system specialty councils; safety, quality,

regulatory, efficiency, and/or financial initiatives; and BSWH Information Services (IS)

work processes as needed;

• Actively lead in EHR communication and adoption efforts among all medical staff

members;

• Support Informatics Operational Advocates (OAs) in prioritizing and communicating

enhancement and configuration change requests from end users;

• Being amongst the first to attend application training to develop knowledge and assist in

reviewing training plans;

• Present/sponsor educational sessions for medical staff;

• Help define physician satisfaction and EHR ease of use metrics and be responsible for

their improvement on an enterprise level;

Assist in production of regular reports of outcomes of EHR adoption efforts among

medical staff members;

• Attend scheduled meetings;

• Attend seminars/meetings as necessary for keeping current on EHR/HIT;

• Being a super user to colleagues – support at implementations and upgrades, gathering

feedback from physicians and working with build analysts regarding issues.
